I designed the interior for the new location of Head to Toe gift shop on historic Cherry Street in downtown Black Mountain, NC.
I will be presenting on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Spirit of Place, Places of Spirit: Creating a Healing Environment conference, co-sponsored by the North Carolina Arts for Health Training Institute and the Mountain Area Health Education Center.
It is one of the greatest joys of my life to help promote artists and to bring their work to the public. I have been doing this for more than 30 years through various business ventures, and I am excited and honored to now be a part of the Public Art Board of Asheville, North Carolina.
I will be assisting Shannon Knapp of Horse Sense of the Carolinas by designing an outdoor retreat environment centered around their beautiful large seven circuit labyrinth. It is exciting for me to be working again the this remarkable equine therapy organization.

Mission Hospital Re-designs Chapel for Interfaith Community Western North Carolina Craft Artists Highlighted
Mission Hospital, in Asheville, North Carolina, has recently re-designed both chapels to better serve an interfaith community. Learn about the Interior Designer, and the original work of Western North Carolina Craft Artists, that went into this project.
An interior designer from Asheville, North Carolina, helped Mission Hospital re-design a chapel to make it an interfaith space. She also builds labyrinths, meditation gardens, and other sacred spaces.
On Monday, December 21, 2009, Jaan will be participating in a lunch hour Labyrinth walk and discussion with the Chaplains at Mission/St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville.
